  2. Approve Purchase of Replacement Type 3 Fire Engine

Our 1998 Type 3 Engine 3033, is coming to the end of it's useful life.  It is in service for district calls.  This new used Type 3 engine would be used for out of district calls.  The Purchase of this 2008 International Type 3 Fire engines price is $ 140,000.  Our certified mechanic and head engineer went to inspect the engine and met the criteria of the district mechanic.  It has 92,000 miles.  J&L Capital, we used it for type 1 engine, approved us for $ 25,000 down, for a 7-year term.  Budget discussion covered what is in our reserve fund and selling 3031.  If the engine goes on a fire for seven days or 5 two week rolls it will make its annual payment. Working with other agencies to staff the engine to be available to respond to out of district calls.  We need a reliable out of district engine.  The board continues to discuss pros and cons to replace old type 3 engine with the new.
